Pjanic and Dzeko said the last Goodbye to Fiorentina captain Davide Astori

Fiorentina captain and Italy international Davide Astori (31) has died suddenly in his sleep.

The dad-of-one was found in a hotel room by a massage therapist after he did not show up for breakfast or answered his phone.

The football world was shaken up with this sad news, many players have said the last farewell to Astori, among them are BiH national team members Edin Dzeko and Miralem Pjanic.

“I have no words to describe this moment. You were an outstanding player, always an amazing example. My deepest condolences to Astori family. I will miss you David, Pjanic wrote next to photograph of him and David on Instragram, while Deko wrote that the news was an extremely sad one.

“My thoughts are with the family, friends and all at @acffiorentina
Rest in peace Davide#Astori”, Dzeko wrote.

“A profoundly shocked Fiorentina are compelled to announce that their captain Davide Astori, who was struck by an unexpected sudden illness, has passed away,” the official club statement said.
