Representatives of the Federal Ministry of Displaced Persons and Refugees of BiH and the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of BiH, as well as supervisory representatives, contractors Gradnja Invest 2 and the Municipality of Odzak, handed over the keys of 15 residential units that were reconstructed for the needs of returnees in this municipality.

These are returnees in the settlements of Srnava, Potocani, Josava, Novo Selo, Ada, Trnjak, Gornji Svilaj and Donja Dubica. These houses were reconstructed as part of the Regional Housing Program, where the reconstruction of a total of 38 residential units took place in Odzak, while keys of the remaining eight units should be handed over in the future period.

The Federal Ministry of Displaced Persons and Refugees is implementing this program, which is aimed at returning refugees from the region, as an implementer in co-operation with the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of BiH, and a significant progress was made in the process of realization of activities from this fund.

The Regional Housing Program in BiH is currently implemented through a total of four projects that are taking place at the moment – BiH1, BiH2, BiH3 and BiH4 – with the aim to provide new homes for around 2,000 displaced and refugee families by the end of the year of 2018 and early 2019. After the approval of BiH5 project by the Donors Assembly of RSP in June this year, it is planned to provide a home for a total of 2,500 families, or about 9,000 individuals, by the end of 2019.
