Kosarac and Uebber: To resolve the Issue of Obtaining Visas for posted Workers from BiH in Germany

Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH Stasa Kosarac met with Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Bosnia and Herzegovina Margret Uebber on Friday and spoke about resolving the issue of obtaining visas for posted workers from BiH in Germany.

The interlocutors pointed out the problem of the number of terms for issuing visas, currently allocated by the German Embassy in BiH, and which is insufficient for the contingent approved by business entities from BiH.

They discussed the issue of prioritization of applications for granting visas to posted workers from BiH, so that companies with an earlier deadline for execution of contracts with companies from Germany would have an advantage in that process, which is currently not the practice.

Representatives of the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH and the Entity Chambers of Commerce proposed that this problem be solved based on the model from Serbia, where the Chamber of Commerce prioritizes visa applications, i.e. determines which company will have priority when allocating appointments for workers.

The officials agreed at the meeting that the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH and the German Embassy in BiH will hold a working meeting in the upcoming period to define the next steps in resolving the issue of obtaining visas for posted workers from BiH in Germany, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH stated in the press release.
