Prices of Products and Services recorded Decrease in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Prices of products and services used for personal consumption in Bosnia and Herzegovina, measured by the consumer price index, in August were on average lower by 0.2 percent compared to July.

Food and non-alcoholic beverages are on average 0.9 percent cheaper in August, and clothing and footwear 1.6 percent cheaper, the BiH Statistics Agency stated.

In August, compared to July, alcoholic beverages and tobacco are on average 0.2 percent more expensive, housing by 0.1 percent, healthier, recreation and culture are more expensive, while transportation is on average more expensive by 0.8 percent.

The price level in August this year, compared to the same month last year, is lower by 1.2 percent. Clothing and footwear are on average cheaper by 10.3 percent, housing and overhead costs by one percent, furniture, household appliances and regular house maintenance by 0.5 percent, transportation by 10.6 percent, and recreation and culture by 0, 3 percent.

In August, compared to the same month last year, food and non-alcoholic beverages were on average 1.5 percent more expensive, alcoholic beverages and tobacco by 3.8 percent, health care by 1.1 percent, communications by 0.7 percent, restaurants and hotels by 2.1 percent, and other goods and services by 0.3 percent.
