Minister of Labor, Social Policy, Displaced Persons and Refugees of Sarajevo Canton (CS) Jasna Agic, who is also deputy Minister of Health in CS, said today at the Assembly of CS that employment contracts were signed with 82 health workers.

Agic answered Vedran Jakupovic’s parliamentary question about the employment of new medical workers and the organization of work in health care institutions in the Sarajevo Canton, given the bad situation that came to light due to the coronavirus pandemic, Klix.ba news portal reports.

She said that contracts were signed with 82 workers, of which 36 in the General Hospital, 36 in health centers and 10 workers in the Institute for Emergency Medical Aid.

“Today, a new 10 million BAM is on the agenda, which should be directed to the employment of medical staff,” she said.

When it comes to poor organization of health care institutions, the health minister said it was not the job of the CS government.

“The CS government has provided health institutions with everything they need to work – we have hired people, procured new equipment. I don’t know if the government is expected to organize the work of institutions, they have directors whose primary task is that,” said Agic.
