Prosecutor’s Office issued ​Indictment against Two Persons for Transport of 9200 Packs of Cigarettes

A Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued an Indictment against Almira Duradbegović, born in 1995 in Bugojno, residing in Sarajevo.

This accused person is charged with transporting approximately 6000 packs of cigarettes of various brands and types, without proper documentation, which were not marked with control and tax stamps and which was hidden in a passenger’s motor vehicle she drove. While driving the said vehicle on 22 October 2020, in the Posušje municipality, she was detected by the police officers of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

The aforementioned quantity of cigarettes reaches the price of tens of thousands of BAM on the illegal tobacco market, and in accordance with the law, cigarettes as excise goods must be marked with excise stamps of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the manner prescribed by the tax legislation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The accused is charged with having committed the criminal offence of Illicit Trade in Excise Products, referred to in Article 210a of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.  

The Indictment has been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Also, a Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued an Indictment against Armin Isović, born in 1992 in Sarajevo, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

This accused person is charged with transporting more than 3200 packs of cigarettes of various brands and types, which were not marked with the appropriate control and tax stamps as prescribed by the tax legislation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. While ha was driving a motor vehicle with the said cigarettes, the accused was detected by the traffic police in Sarajevo, in September this year, during its regular control. 

The seized cigarettes reach the price of more than 15000 BAM on the illegal tobacco market. 

The aforementioned accused person is charged with having committed the criminal offence of Illicit Trade in Excise Products, referred to in Article 210a of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.  

The Indictment has been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
