elektronske-zdravstvene-knjiziceIn Canton Sarajevo so far, 18.000 electronic health cards issued by the Department of Health Insurance have been printed, and are intended for certain categories of insured persons, above all war veterans and pensioners.

It is realized within the framework of a pilot project of electronic health cards, which plans the distribution of 20.000 electronic health cards to certain categories of insured persons.

The Canton Sarajevo Health Insurance Agency told Fena that the connecting of health insurance institutions at all levels of health care with the Canton Sarajevo Health Insurance Department should greatly facilitate the work of physicians, and the introduction of health cards to patients would provide treatment to patients without unnecessary procedures.

‘’In this way, our policyholders will be able to use services of selected doctors without going to the offices of the Health Insurance Department in order to certify their health coverage’’, said the Assistant to Information at the Canton Sarajevo Health Insurance Ernesa Zornić. The distribution of electronic cards, in their initial stage, could be used at certain places where the appropriate technical conditions are set up.

These are six clinics of the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo: General Hospital “Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakaš”, all outpatient community health centers, Stari Grad, Novi Grad and Novo Sarajevo, including the central points, the central point of the Institute for Emergency Medical Services and the Ministry of Interior, Department of Occupational Health, Department of Occupational Health and the Department for the Protection of Women and Motherhood-central facility.
