A meeting was held in the City Administration of Bihać with representatives of all public kitchens in the city and the Center for Social Work. They discussed the possibilities of helping the most vulnerable categories of habitats, and the City of Bihać provided 44,000 KM for this purpose.

Merhamet Bihać prepares and distributes 254 meals to socially disadvantaged beneficiaries every day, and regularly helps 450 families with food and sanitary packages. Eight days ago, 400 packages were distributed. The value of one package is 50 marks.

“The biggest donors are our fellow citizens. The budget year of Merhamet Bihać for last year was about 250,000 marks, and if you keep that in mind, then you know how much 8,000 KM is in that amount of money. We are grateful for this as well,” emphasizes the president of Merhamet Bihać, Fikret. Draganović.

It was agreed that all public kitchens in the area of Bihać will be helped with 8,000 KM each and the Center for Social Work with 12,000 KM. According to the mayor, the funds for this purpose were obtained from the Government of the Federation, and a certain part of the funds that were realized from the activities related to the airport were redirected.

“Whoever you help, you can’t make a mistake because a large number of people are in a state of social need, unfortunately, due to rising prices, due to everything that is happening,” said the mayor of Bihac, Šuhret Fazlić.

Red Cross Bihać is grateful for this support, because they say that more and more citizens are asking for help.

“It is also devastating that citizens who were once well-off and lived a somewhat normal life are coming,” says the secretary of the Bihać Red Cross Selam Midžić.

By the end of the year, humanitarian organizations are planning actions to collect aid for the socially vulnerable population, and they are calling on citizens to respond because there are a large number of our fellow citizens who need help.
