Catholics and Muslims celebrated Good Friday and the night of Ramadan together

On the promenade near Bosnia and Herzegovina Square in Odžak tonight, a joint iftar was held for all fasting Muslims, as well as a dinner for members of the Catholic faith who celebrated Good Friday in anticipation of the Easter holiday.

On that occasion, messages of peace and the importance of unity among members of all confessions were sent from the Ojak promenade.

On behalf of the organizers, Zlatko Mujkanović, president of the Odžak Municipal Council, greeted those present, pointing out that this town in Posavina is actually an environment where members of all denominations live harmoniously and celebrate religious holidays together.

This night was special due to the fact that it marked two fasts, that is, the Muslim fast in the month of Ramadan and the Catholic one on Good Friday, which represents the saddest day in the faith and is a prelude to the celebration of Easter.

Also, iftar time is traditionally marked in Odžak by the firing of a cannon, the sound of which reverberates through the city every Ramadan night, Klix.ba writes.
