25 Ministers expressed unanimous support for BiH at NATO Summit

Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) has been given the same status as NATO member states, which have been threatened by Russia’s aggression on Ukraine since February 24th.

”Out of a total of 30 ministers present, 25 spoke about our country, and expressed unanimous support for BiH,” BiH Defense Minister Sifet Podzic said at a special press briefing, adding:

”I was firmly convinced that the Allies were preparing an adequate response to such a scenario. That is their obligation under the Dayton Peace Agreement as well.”

Croatian journalists asked Minister Podzic to respond to the claims of Croatian President Zoran Milanovic, who said that BiH was an unstable country and that as such it posed a security threat to Croatia.

Podzic said that Milanovic had a fiasco.

”I think his speeches are unbalanced and unnecessary. I do not agree with what he is saying, and my colleague from the Republic of Croatia does not agree either. We have a long border with your country and we strive to maintain close friendly relations. The interference we see is unnecessary and counterproductive for Croatia and it is obvious that Milanovic is now trying to cure some of his frustrations.

It was inappropriate to tie the entry of Sweden and Finland to the election law, and that came back to the president of Croatia like a boomerang. And it was completely unnecessary,” Podzic answered.

The Minister of Defense of BiH announced that the German Parliament will vote next week on whether to send 50 German soldiers to BiH, as part of EUFOR. He also welcomed the announcement by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson that he would send his troops to our country.
