During the control of the technical correctness of 297 buses in Republika Srpska (RS), one of the entities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, deficiencies were spotted on 79 or 26.6 percent of them, the RS Ministry of Transport and Communications said.

The largest number of malfunctions related to the braking system – 71 vehicles, lighting and light-signaling devices (31), control system (10), and wheels (16).

The equipment was missing on two buses.

All buses that were found defective were instructed to have them removed and to have the technical inspection repeated.

The bus safety control action, conducted from August 19 to August 31, was aimed at increasing the safety of students in traffic and is being implemented before the start of the school year.
