Iranian Defense Minister Amir Nasirzadeh and Revolutionary Guard commander Mohammed Pakpour were likely killed in the Israeli strikes, a source familiar with Israeli military operations and a regional source said.

The United States and Israel attacked Iran on Saturday, February 28, thus starting a new conflict in the Middle East.

US President Donald Trump claims the attack will end the security threat to the US and offer the Iranians a chance to overthrow their rulers.

Analyst from the neighborhood of Bosnia and Herzegovina: It is now clear what the main goal of America and Israel is, but it will not succeed

The operation is of a “completely different scope” than the previous attack launched by Israel in June 2025, Israel’s chief of staff said.

“We are participating in an operation that is taking place on a completely different scale, more complex and complicated. I know the preparations have been short, but intense and incredibly thorough,” Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir said in a video released by the military showing him with other generals in the command center.

According to the Red Crescent, more than 20 of Iran’s 31 provinces have been affected by the attacks.

“So far, more than 20 provinces have been affected by the attacks,” spokesman Mojtaba Khaledi said.
