35.842 Tourists Visited Sarajevo in May

turisti-sa35.842 tourists from 94 countries visited Sarajevo during May, which is 1.7 % more than in May 2013. 88.8 % were foreign tourists and 11.2 % local tourists.

“69.575 overnight stay recorded tourists in May in the areas of Sarajevo Canton, which is 9.3 % more than in the same period last year. The most foreign tourists came from Turkey,  (21,7 %), South Korea (9,2 %), Croatia (8,3 %), Slovenia (5,5 %) and USA (4,3 %). 89,2 overnight stay have recorded foreign tourists, while 10,8% overnight stay have recorded local tourists”, said for Agency Fena, the spokesperson of Tourists Agency of Canton Sarajevo Asja Hadžiefendić-Mešić.

The most overnight stays have recorded tourist from Turkey (22.2 %), Croatia (7.8 %), USA (6.3 %), Serbia (5.3 %) and Slovenia (4.9 %).

The tourist agency of Sarajevo Canton has registered 129 accommodation facilities with 3.541 rooms and 7.725 beds. Occupancy rates stood at 63.4 percent in terms of occupancy room, and 29.1 percent in terms of bed occupancy.

The highest occupancy rates have facilities in the area of Ilidža: 100 % in terms of room occupancy and 58.1 % in terms of bed occupancy,  specified the spokesperson of the  Tourist Agency of the Sarajevo Canton Asja Hadžiefendić-Mešić.
