The Agreement on the Dynamic of Realization of the Solution of Veterans’ Demands between the Federal Ministry for Veterans and Invalids of the Defensive-Liberation War and veterans’ association ensured that the funds allocated to veterans in the following five years won’t be reduced.

Salko Bukvarevic, the federal minister for veterans and invalids of the Defensive-Liberation War, explain for Klix.ba that the 7-8 million BAM that isn’t used at the end of the year due to users’ loss of rights will be diverted to other expenses.

“Each year, there are many users who lose their rights – they die or children reach a certain age. Those funds were directed to other ministries. This agreement ensures that those funds remain at the disposal of the Federal Ministry for Veterans and Invalids of the Defensive-Liberation War and that they are transferred towards other veterans and members of their families,” minister Buvarevic said for Klix.ba.

He repeated that between 7 and 8 million BAM per year will be directed towards other questions, together with representatives of veterans and veterans’ organizations.

“We’ll prepare criteria for the use of those funds. The intention is that those funds are used for veterans and members of their families who are in need. Of course, along with that decision to distribute those funds comes the need for criteria which we wish to coordinate with veterans’ association so that they will support both the criteria and the decisions,” Bukvarevic said.

He added that he expects that the Agreement will come into force on September 1st, in accordance with a decision of the Government of FBiH.
