99 new Cases of Coronavirus Infection have been registered in Sarajevo

In the last 24 hours, 299 new cases of coronavirus infection have been registered in Sarajevo Canton, of which 181 patients are already in self-isolation, said today the internal medicine specialist of the General Hospital “Prim. Dr. Abdulah Nakas” and the leader of the COVID team in that hospital Bilal Oglečevac.

He pointed out that the number of people cured in the past 24 hours was 521, while five people died.

A total of 977 people were tested, while 378 patients were hospitalized and 28 were discharged from the hospital. He reminded that by the decision of the Canton Sarajevo Crisis Staff, the General Hospital for the treatment of COVID patients ceded 30 percent of the capacity and said that the occupancy of these capacities is about 90 percent.

However, he warned that this requires a huge effort and that they are at the limit of human and technical capacities.

”For now, everything works, we have a large turnover of patients, but we manage to keep the situation stable. We are gaining certain experiences and we are getting better every day,” he said.

Although they do their best to be available, he appealed to the citizens to be as serious as possible and to adhere to the prescribed measures.
