Reconstructed part of the salt pipeline in the Salt Mine Tuzla, in the length of 2.400 meters, was put into operation yesterday. This is the project that will additionally increase capacities of this mine, and it will also improve safety during the transport of salt water.
“Previously we had a pipeline made of concrete-asbestos pipes which were cracking all the time, causing damage and insecurity of the transport of salt water. Because of that, we executed this reconstruction and financed the project with 220.000 BAM from our own budget. Last Thursday we also put into operation two boreholes, which is almost 80 percent of the annual needs of this mine,” said the acting Director of the Salt Mine Tuzla Anis Šaldić.
Prime Minister of the Tuzla Canton Bego Gutić said that this reconstruction ensured certain future for 700 workers of the company Sisecam Soda Lukavac and 200 workers of the mentioned mine.
According to the Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining of the Sarajevo Canton Srđan Mićanović, this project is another proof that the Salt Mine Tuzla has a successful financial consolidation.
“In early 2015 the Government of Tuzla Canton reached a decision on financial consolidation of the Tuzla salt mine and today we see that this is one economic society that invests in the expansion of their capacities. This salt water pipeline will increase capacities by ten percent,” Mićanović said.
Mićanović added that investments in the reconstruction of one part of the salt water pipeline and the opening of two new boreholes in the amount of nearly 1.800.000 BAM from their own budget show that this mine has a certain economic swing which gives exceptional results in financial consolidation.
