A Ceasefire Agreement could be reached in the next 24 to 48 Hours

A cease-fire agreement between Israel and the Palestinians could be reached in the next 24 to 48 hours if Israel accepts Hamas’ demands, a spokesman for the movement said.

“If Israel accepts Hamas’ demands, which include the return of displaced people to the northern Gaza Strip and an increase in humanitarian aid, it could pave the way for an agreement in the next 24 to 48 hours,” the spokesman said.

The Ministry of Health announced today that at least 30,410 Palestinians have been killed and 71,700 wounded in the Israeli military offensive in Gaza since October 7.

The American administration previously said that Israel agrees with the proposal of the agreement and that it will begin to be implemented as soon as the first prisoners are released.

Negotiations on a ceasefire and the release of hostages in the Gaza Strip will continue on Sunday in Cairo, the Egyptian station “Al Cairo News” reported on Saturday, citing an official source.

The source said intense efforts are underway to reach an agreement before the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, which begins in early March.

There is significant progress in negotiations and a fair deal is being sought, says the insider.

The news channel reported continuing talks at the “expert” level in Doha, saying meetings in Cairo would follow.

Israel has vowed to destroy the Palestinian group Hamas after the October 7 attacks that killed about 1,200 Israelis and took about 250 others hostage in Gaza.

Since then, more than 30,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks, and many more bodies are likely to have disappeared under the rubble in the besieged enclave.

Israel and Hamas, accused of genocide, are negotiating through the mediators of Egypt, Qatar and the US on a possible ceasefire in the area.

The earlier ceasefire for the cessation of hostilities and the exchange of hostages and prisoners lasted seven days from November 24 to December 1, 2023.
