Avdo HuseinovicThe premiere of the documentary film “Herceg – Bosna, crime and punishment“ was held last night at 8.00 p.m. in the National Theater in Mostar. The realization of this documentary  represents the second film of the Alliance of Detainees in BiH, that includes the theme of detention camps and the war that occurred in  BiH. The producer of the film is Avdo Huseinovic.

The documentary film “Herceg – Bosna. Crime and punishment“, deals with detention camps formed in the territory of the so-called Croatian Republic of Herceg – Bosna, including crimes committed in those detention camps as well as outside of them, by the Croatian military against civilian citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1993 and 1994.

The movie focuses on 20 detention camps from this period, as well as crimes committed in Ahmici, Stupni Dol and Vrbanja near Bugojno and crimes committed against detainees in Prozor and Mostar who were forcibly used as human shields on the front lines.
Almost 25.000 persons passed through detention camps

Avdo Huseinovic said that the film covers the greatest part of the territory and municipalities that were under the control of Herceg – Bosna. He said that it is difficult to speak about the exact number of detention camps that existed in this area, and according to an estimation by the Alliance of Detainees of BiH, close to 25.000 persons passed through these camps.

“I am especially pleased that prominent communicators and contemporaries such as Ivo Komsic, Stjepan Kljujic, Stjepan Mesic, Marinko Pejic etc. participated in the film. Besides the story about detention camps and torture, some other important themes were mentioned in the films such as the fact that the HVO arrested thousands of its own soldiers, primarily Bosniaks, who were also interred in detention camps in 1993. Examples in which one army arrests such a large number of its soldiers for no reason are very rare“, said Huseinovic.

This documentary is not bias against any country.
