Nermin Sulejmanović from Gradačac, who killed three people and wounded three more in that city today, committed suicide after being surrounded by the police, it was confirmed for BHRT from the Ministry of Interior of Tuzla Canton.

As reported by the Prosecutor’s Office of Tuzla Canton, three people were killed, while at least three people were wounded. After being cornered in a police chase, the triple murderer committed suicide.

“The suspect Nermin Sulejmanović (35) from Gradačac was located by police forces in the wider area of Gradačac. He committed suicide. Sulejmanović killed his ex-wife and two men, a father and a son, with a gun. He wounded a policeman, and another man and a woman in different locations,” announced the Tuzla Canton Prosecutor’s Office.

“Police forces are on the ground. The investigation will be carried out by the prosecutor on duty in cooperation with the investigators of the criminal police sector of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Croatia and the OKP of the Gradačac Police Department,” added the Prosecutor’s Office.

The police earlier appealed to the citizens to take refuge in a safe place, while the police chase for the triple murderer is ongoing.

They also urged citizens to contact the police if they have useful information.

Mayor Dervišagić: Gradačac is wrapped in black

After the multiple murders in Gradačac, the mayor Edis Dervišagić spoke out and declared that this is a great tragedy.

“Unfortunately, our peaceful, hard-working, virtuous city is shrouded in black. A great tragedy has happened. As I unofficially learn, it is a family dispute that has escalated and now we are in a situation, unfortunately, of counting the dead and wounded,” Dervišagić said.
