The Association for the Development of the Society “Kap”organized a performance in Sarajevo today on the occasion of the European Day of Patients’ Rights in order to present the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s health institutions from the patient’s perspective.
Merima Spahic from the Association stated that they have been warning about very bad public health in various ways over the years, whose victims are patients who are losing not only their health but also their lives.
“Our goal is to respect the Law on the Rights, Obligations and Responsibilities of Patients in FBiH, which is perfect, but the problem is the non-implementation of that law,” Spahic pointed out.
She added that together with the association Stop-Mobbing from Trebinje, they collected 2,000 signatures, which they handed over to the Federal Ministry of Health in December 2021, with the request that the health institutions be open to patients.
Spahic emphasized that due to the closure of health institutions, there was an epidemic of malignancy and other diseases, and as a result of complete neglect of patients.
The performance was performed by young actors, and during the half-hour performance, video confessions of patients were recorded, which were recorded as part of the project “Corruption in Healthcare – a virus for which there is a cure”.
An identical performance was performed today at the same time in Banja Luka.
