Tourism in Mostar this year flourished and a breakthrough was made in the tourist offers in the city on the Neretva.

The Director of the Tourist Agencies Herzegovina-Neretva Canton (HNK) Andrija Krešić confirmed for “Sarajevo Times” that extraordinary results were achieved thanks to the presentation of the tourist potential of Mostar and HNK at a number of fairs in the region and Europe.

“We presented Mostar and HNK in the best possible way to the region and Europe, so that this city and our canton receives more attention now. This year’s pre-season has started, and we hope that it will be a successful season, at least as last year’s level’’, said Krešić.

Speaking of foreign tourists, Krešić said that in the city on the Neretva, the usual tourists come from Italy, Poland, Slovenia, and Germany, and noted that in the last period there was a noticeable growth in the number of tourists from Asia.

According to him, the International Trade Fair “Mostar 2013”, which was held form 9-13 April, significantly contributed to tourism in Mostar.

“We achieved a spectacular growth. The tourism fair was held as a specialized event, and the tourist offers were better in comparison to last year. I hope that this tourism fair would continue in the future’’, concluded Krešić.
