The second meeting of the Organizing Committee for marking the 27th anniversary of the genocide against Bosniaks of the “United Nations (UN) Safe Zone” in Srebrenica was held on Wednesday in the premises of the Potocari Memorial Center.
It is important to note that the president of the Organizing Committee for the 27th anniversary, Hamdija Fejzic, explained that the reports of the presidents of the subcommittee on the activities between the two meetings were on the agenda.
”At the last meeting, the presidents of the subcommittees were appointed, and the subcommittees themselves were mostly constituted. This year, we started preparations earlier,” said Fejzic.
As he stated, preparations for the 27th anniversary of the genocide, as well as this year’s ”Peace March” are going according to plan, and a subcommittee for the “Peace March” has been constituted.
”We want to create a situation through educational and cultural content that it is not just about walking, but also that something can be learned. We expect about 3.000 participants in the March Nezuk – Potocari and about 250 participants on the route Zepa –Potocari,” told the president of the subcommittee for the “Peace March” Amir Kulaglic.
The Institute for Missing Persons of BiH announced that 30 victims of genocide have been identified so far for the collective funeral and burial on July 11th.
