In Bosnia and Herzegovina this year, 72.8 percent of households have access to the Internet, which is about 0.8 percent more than the previous year, while 92.9 percent of households have access to a mobile phone.
BH Agency for Statistics results show that 65.7 percent of individuals have used a computer, tablet, laptop and other portable devices other than a smartphone in the last three months, 23.8 percent of individuals have never used a computer, 7.6 percent of individuals have not used a computer anymore of one year, and 2.9 percent did not use the computer for more than three months and less than a year.
According to the Agency, 73.2 percent of individuals used the Internet for the last time in the last three months, 23.1 percent never used the Internet, 2.5 percent of individuals used the Internet more than a year ago, and 1.1 percent used the Internet more than three months ago, and less than a year ago.
According to the survey, about 77.8 percent of men use the Internet, and 69.3 percent of women. When it comes to the reasons for using the Internet in BiH for private purposes this year, 90.6 percent said it was due to phone calls and video calls, 78 percent due to sending online messages via Skype, Viber, WhatsApp, Messenger and other applications, 68 ,3 percent for participating in social networks, 67.2 percent for seeking information about goods and services, and 65.6 percent for reading Internet portals, magazines and online newspapers.
In BiH, 16.7 percent of individuals use internet banking, which is 8.9 percent more than in the previous year. When it comes to types of products ordered over the Internet, 56.1 percent said it was clothing, footwear or accessories, 21.6 percent ordered household goods, furniture and household accessories, 18.8 percent said consumer electronics or household appliances , and 17.8 percent sports equipment that does not include sportswear and footwear.
The survey was conducted on a sample of 6,457 households, and data were collected through a telephone survey. Only those households that have at least one member between the ages of 16 and 74 are included in these surveys.
