1471800_581463831908127_587792258_nOne more street action called ‘Food, Not Bombs will be held for the third time in Sarajevo today on Ilidža. A group of activists will provide free food to those who need it the most, and the action starts near the post office at 15:00.

The activists successfully led these actions for the past two weekends, and shared free vegetarian meals to their fellow citizens, with the goal for the more equitable distribution of food and the fight against poverty.

They are committed to basic human rights such as the right to a free meal, protesting against poverty and deprivation, and they wish to draw attention to the unjust distribution in society that leads to global poverty.

The movement Food not Bombs started in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1980 as an anti-nuclear project and is today one of the fastest growing movements in the world. The activists of the collective organizes actions today throughout the world in giving out free food as a protest against militarism, poverty, police repression, discrimination against homeless people, and capitalism in general, a system of repression.

This is a direct action on the streets and one of the concrete ways of participating in a community. They collect food from the markets, then cook and provide it to all those who need it the most.
