kurz-osmanovicMinister of Civil Affairs of BiH, Adil Osmanovic, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Austria, Sebastian Kurz, last night in Vienna signed an Agreement on cooperation in education, science, sports and youth between Austria and BiH, and the ceremony was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH, Igor Crnadak.

At the signing, Kurz said that there are more than 200,000 people of BiH origin in Austria, who represent an important segment of Austrian society.

“This community is an example of a well-integrated community, which kept its identity at the same time. Austria is the biggest investor in BiH, and your diaspora is an important part of it through their representatives. We are therefore particularly pleased that we can say that the years of cultural cooperation between BiH and Austria brought these two countries even closer together,” said Kurz.

Signing the agreement was preceded by a gala concert of the Sarajevo Philharmonic that was held in the Austrian capital. There was great interest for this concert, and it was attended by high officials and BH citizens.

Osmanovic said that this concert proves in the best way that culture builds bridges and erases borders.

“We started the year of 2016 in the beautiful way in Sarajevo, with the grand opening of the event titled “Year of Culture of BiH – Austria. Minister Sebastian Kurz visited BiH on that occasion and the Agreement on Scientific and Technological Cooperation between the two countries was signed then. Today in Vienna, I have the honor and pleasure that the Minister Kurz is again with us and that we signed another important agreement on cooperation that will be particularly important for our cultural workers, as well as for the field of sport, education, science and youth, “said Osmanovic.
