The summer tourist season on Makarska Riviera, a favorite holiday place for Bosnians, is slowly heating up.
Guests from Germany, Sweden, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands and Japan have already arrived, but there are no crowds on the beaches, because the peak of the season is expected from the 10th of July.
When it comes to the price of accommodation, from the tourist offices on the Riviera said that the price of overnight stays are same as before, depending on the location and quality of accommodation, and they range from 15 EUR (30 BAM) in rooms up to 300 EUR (600 BAM) in apartments and luxury hotels.
Davor Andrijasevic, director of the Tourist Association (TA) Gradac, where Bosnians traditionally spend their summers, said that guests from BiH make up a total of 15 % of all tourists at the level of this tourist association, which apart from Gradac also covers Brist, Podaca, and some other places.
Although some people claim that Bosnians are not so good tourists, Andrijasevic noted that he is very pleased with them, because they are serious tourists.
Ivo Mravicic, director of TA Tucepi, is also pleased with the beginning of the season, and he noted that everything should be full in Tucepi by the 10th of July.
“Bosnians are traditionally coming in the middle of the season, but there are some families with children and pensioners now as well. I must say that we are satisfied with tourists from BiH. We can say for Bosnian that when they go on vacation, they really spend and enjoy as much as they can. This is common mentality in Croatia and BiH,” added Mravicic.
He emphasized that the prices in Tucepi are the same in the last ten years. The prices for apartments range from 50 to 300 EUR (100-600 BAM).
Bosnian Mirjana Pasalic, who is married in Tucepi, says that Bosnians are wonderful guests and she cannot wait for them to come in greater numbers. Currently, she added, there are plenty of guests from Sarajevo, Tuzla and Zenica. While the smaller towns on Riviera are still unfilled, Makarska is full of tourists, mainly from Western Europe, as well as from America, Russia etc.
