spiric-kravcikMinister of Finance and Treasury of B&H Nikola Špirić and the Ambassador of Poland to B&H Andžej Kravčik signed yesterday in Sarajevo an agreement on avoidance of double taxation and prevention of tax evasion on incomes and assets between B&H and Poland.

Špiric stressed that this agreement in a concrete way will improve cooperation between B&H and Poland, but also will facilitate business people and citizens of two countries to intensify business contacts.

He emphasized that the core value of this agreement is that both countries to not pay direct taxes on the same basis. Entity approvals were given for signing of this agreement.

Špirić added that the agreement clearly defines procedures in order to prevent evasion of taxes on income and properties, which is in the interest of both countries.

“The time ahead will be a time of successful cooperation between the two extremely friendly countries”, said Špirić who believes that there is much room for improvement of the economic and every other kind of cooperation.

He pointed out that in 2012 is recorded a decline in exports from B&H and imports from Poland and in 2013 is achieved a 92.5 million exports from B&H and 400 million BAM imports from Poland.

He considers that in future will be increased the number of Polish investors to B&H.

Kravčik emphasized that signing of this agreement represents a small but important step in improvement of economic relations between B&H and Poland.

“I am on duty as Ambassador in B&H for already a year and during this period the interest of Polish business people to invest in B&H has increased”, he said.

Kravčik added that this agreement will contribute to the normalization of economic relations between the two countries, as well as the efforts of B&H in regard to the integration to EU.
