The Republic of Albania has made an official decision to open its embassy in Sarajevo.

As confirmed to us, the search for a location for the embassy is underway.

As a reminder, the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted a Decision at the end of last year to approve the opening of the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

According to tvsensor.com, the new ambassador should be Anita Shaqiri, an experienced diplomat who currently serves as an advisor at the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania.

Shaqiri also visited the headquarters of the Albanian Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina a few days ago.

“We introduced ourselves and briefly informed each other about the history and activities of our Community over time and expressed our readiness for the support that will be needed in this period until the definitive opening of the Embassy in Sarajevo,” the Albanian Community in BiH stated.
