Aleksandra Samardžić Won the Bronze Medal At the European Championship (U18)

Aleksandra SamardžićB&H young judo player Aleksandra Samardžić won the bronze medal at the European Championship- U18, held last weekend in Athens, announced Judo Federation of B&H.

Our successful young competitor in the category of up to 70 kg to the medal came through victories over representatives of Sweden (Kalpakidou Katerina), Turkey (Erdogan Semanur) and France (Tarting Juliet), while in semifinals was defeated by Russian (Tokareva Ekaterina), and in the fight for the third place  won over representative of Netherlands Walhout Chantel, with the maximum result 10:0.

429 competitors from 42 countries participated in this championship.

“The excellent form of our best competitor pleases us especially when we know that Aleksandra will perform at the upcoming Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing 2014. So far, she won two times silver medals at the European Championships for Cadets, third place at the EYOP and two times won at the senior European Cup, and this last success confirmed that she is a new young star in judo sport. Her coaches Arijana Jaha and Branislav Crnogorac are satisfied with the performance of this young top athlete and they estimate that her time is yet to come”, announced in the statement of Judo Federation of B&H.
