ambasador Hrle JemenCitizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina should not travel to Yemen, as said by the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Saudi Arabia and the Permanent representative of BiH in the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) and the Non-Resident Ambassador in Oman and Yemen, Haris Hrle.

Repeating the official stance and the warning of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH, Hrle added that the main part of evacuation from Yemen was finished quietly and successfully.

“Basically, the evacuation was carried out in three ways, depending on the place where our citizens were located. From the capital Sana, evacuation was mainly done with planes, with the significant assistance of the Government of Russia and the International Organization for Migration (IOM). From coastal cities, especially from Aden, evacuation was carried out with the assistance of European and Coalition ships. However, a major part of our citizens has been evacuated by land to Saudi Arabia“, said Ambassador Hrle.

He took the opportunity and thanked to civil, military and police forces of Saudi Arabia on the border with Yemen, who respected all written and oral guarantees of the Embassy, and in that way, facilitated the undisturbed leaving the war zone of our citizens. Hrle emphasized that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH, Igor Crnadak and competent services of MFA were aware of all evacuation activities.

He emphasized that currently, there is less than ten BH citizens, employed as engineers or technicians at oil facilities or as doctors in city hospitals in Sana and Aden. They do not seek for evacuation, but they are in a contact with the Embassy.
