Energetics, industry and the possibilities of improving economic cooperation are the focus of the visit of the Ambassador of Algeria to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mohammed Meraimi, to Tuzla and the Tuzla Canton.
Through the presentation of part of the energy mix of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the industrial capacities of the Tuzla Canton, the hosts today tried to show areas where there is room for strengthening cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Algeria.
The visit began at the Oil Terminals of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Živinice, one of the most important segments of the Federation’s energy infrastructure, after which the delegation also visited several business entities in Lukavac.
The Ambassador of Algeria to Bosnia and Herzegovina Mohammed Meraimi and the Federal Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry Vedran Lakić discussed the possibilities of connecting companies, improving economic cooperation and opening space for future investments.
A special focus is placed on the energy, industry and production sectors, in which both sides see significant potential for joint projects.
Potentials of energy cooperation
The first stop of today’s visit was the oil terminals of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Živinice, where part of the energy mix and energy infrastructure of the Federation was presented to the ambassador.
“My presence here shows how much Algeria values the strengthening of cooperation between Algeria and Bosnia and Herzegovina in various fields. We visited oil terminals where there is a lot of potential. As you know, the relations between our friendly countries are excellent at the political and diplomatic level,” said Algerian ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Mr. Meraimi.
Federal Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry Vedran Lakić pointed out that the goal of the visit is to present the energy potential of Bosnia and Herzegovina to a country that has significant experience in this field.
“Today we are here at the Oil Terminals in Živinice, where we want to show the energy potential of this region, and it is very important to us that a country like Algeria, which is really a very high-level energy country, sees that Bosnia and Herzegovina has the same potential,” said Lakić.
President of the Oil Terminals Management Board of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Damir Kreso, emphasized the importance of energy in the modern world.
“When we talk about energy in general in the world, energy is today, let’s say, the focus of all focus and the most important topic in events in the world. Federation Terminals is a key company of the Federation Government in conserving energy, i.e. conserving fuel, liquid fuels and gas. On this occasion, the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina decided to continue the construction of the Federation Terminal and this time we focused on the terminal in Živinice”, said Kreso.
Tour of economic capacities
Among the companies that the delegations visited today was Koksara Lukavac, for whose preservation and finding a strategic partner the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina invested significant efforts in the past period, although it has no legal obligation and direct authority.
The aim of the tour was for the Algerian ambassador to get to know directly the possibilities of connecting with potential investors from Algeria, when it comes to industrial production, but also the possibilities of selling land in Koksara Lukavac.
The two-day visit to the Tuzla Canton will continue tomorrow through new discussions on the possibilities of improving cooperation in the field of energy, industry and economy, according to Federalna TV.
