An Anonymous Young Man in BiH uses Instagram for Humanitarian Deeds

A young man from Gorazde was tired of following negative and offensive comments and discussions on social media, so he named his profile on the popular Instagram network ”najbolji_grad_na_drini_” (The best city on the Drina) in order to connect people and show them something different and encourage them to do good things.

”It all started in the summer of this year. Every day I read comments on social media about pressing problems in our city, there were various posts, tensions, arguments, name-calling, and even insults and arguments. It’s not at all pleasant when it lasts for days and even months. Everything is gray, everything is black and everything is depressing. We can criticize everything on social media for years but do nothing to change it. We are so passive in every sense that the world seems completely black and hopeless. So how much longer, dear people? I thought for a long time about what to do because we all want to be better. And so, following on Instagram how people advertise, and show everything and anything, I came up with the idea to do something like that. So I created the profile ”najbolji_grad_na_drini_”, wanting to connect people who were born here, regardless of whether they live there or not. The profile was created out of a desire to show that this is still a city of love,” said this young man.

The idea of sharing the positive side of the city, pictures of landscapes, beautiful moments from the life of the city, and various people and events on the profile, with the express prohibition of provocations, insults, and quarrels of any kind, took on another dimension. A Humane dimension.

”On my way to work, I recently met a boy who was in a difficult situation. I decided to try to do something for him myself, and so I published the text on my Instagram profile. I was immediately supported by several people. We helped the boy, and everything was anonymous. That’s how my Instagram profile got another role. To make someone happy. It’s not the first time I’ve participated in these kinds of actions, we’ve done a lot of it. But I still don’t want to reveal my identity, because people are used to this. They’re used to having that anonymous person who does something nice and good,” he added.

It is interesting that this young man often visits elderly people who need any kind of help. If they need groceries, heating, or simply a chat over coffee. He is there to point out those who need help and to help them.

”I decided to show people the bright side of this city, to show that everything can be better when we unite and stand by each other. Somewhere in me I simply know that people really need this. They are my motivation because I know how happy many feel and that they are finally smiling because of this story of mine. That’s the only benefit I personally have because I don’t need anything else, I don’t need money. I just want to be happy myself among these people,” he said.

This young man has launched numerous actions on his profile to date and aroused the interest of many people who follow his example. They want to help others, and share joy, but remain unknown.

”All this comes from the soul. This is my Gorazde,” the young man concluded, Klix.ba reports.
