electionsCentral Election Commission of BiH (CEC BiH) yesterday confirmed the results of local elections in BiH, and the two parties that will be represented in the majority of municipal councils are SDA in 88 and SDP in a total of 74 councils.

Based on the so far established results of local elections, SDA will have representatives in 88 municipal councils in the territory of BiH, which they achieved with the highest number of votes in comparison to the competition.

In second place is the opposition SDP, which will have its councilors in 74 municipal councils and will significantly affect the work of the mayor and the local communities in general.

According to the number of councilors in the Municipal Assemblies in the RS, most councilors will have SNSD in a total of 66 assemblies, followed by the SDS in 62, the DNS in 59, and the PDP in 56 assemblies.

Coalition partner of SDA, the Alliance for a Better Future (SBB) will have their councilors in 52 municipal councils, while the HDZ BiH will have their representatives in 44 councils, which is the same numbers of councils for the Democratic Front (DF).

People’s Democratic Movement (NDP) will have their representatives in 30 councils, the HDZ 1990 in 24 councils, the ASDA in 20 councils, and Our Party in 14 municipal councils.

SDA will seek for the support of coalition partner SBB in formation of government in the municipalities, but it is quite clear that it will not be such an easy job in all municipalities, with regard to the representation of councilors from SDP, Our Party and DF.

SNSD will have a somewhat easier job in the RS, who will be supported by a partner in the government, the DNS.

It is interesting to note that in the municipality of Novi Grad, candidate of SDA who won 1702 votes failed to enter the municipal council, while the candidate of the National Democratic Movement in East Drvar, Biljana Jovic, managed to enter the Assembly of the Municipality of East Drvar with only seven votes.

After the results of the elections are determined, political parties and candidates have a period of two days to file any objections and appeals.
