mars miraPreparations for the “Peace March 2015” are taking place, but the landslide on the part of the road that marchers are supposed to pass is not repaired yet, as confirmed by Hamdija Fejzić, the Chairman of the Subcommittee for the Peace March and the President of the Assembly of the Municipality of Srebrenica.

“Remediation has not started yet, the open competition took place and the contractor was elected. However, there is the legal deadline for the appeal and it expires tomorrow. Until the 8th of July, everything will be ready for the Peace March,” said Fejzić.

As he said, the number of applicants for this year’s 11th Peace March is not final yet since the applications are still ongoing, and several organized groups announced their participation as well.

“I think that the number of applicants will not be less than in the previous years. We are talking about the number of about 10,000 people, but I do not want to predict,” said Fejzić.

The participants of the March will pass the road longer than 100 km, and the column will depart on Wednesday, the 8th of July, between 8:45 am and 9 am from Nezuk. Participants will pass the following road: Bakrači – Glodi – Udrč – Cerska – Kaldrmica – Đugum – Mravinjci – Burnice – Kameničko Hill – Ravni Buljim – Jaglići – Šušnjari – Budak – Potočari (the Memorial Centre). The arrival in Potočari is expected on the 10th of July.

Number of delegations from the region and all around the world will be attending the commemoration and burial of victims of the Srebrenica genocide on  the 11th of July in Potočari, said Fejzić.
