Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said that as a result of tonight’s earthquakes in Hatay, at least three people died and 213 people were injured.

Earlier, Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay said that after the 6.4 magnitude earthquake, there were 20 aftershocks.

Two earthquakes measuring 6.4 and 5.8 on the Richter scale struck the southern Turkish province of Hatay tonight, and the earthquake was also felt in the northwest of neighboring Syria.

The epicenters of the earthquake were registered in the districts of Defne and Samandag, and the competent Turkish services called on citizens to stay away from the damaged buildings, to stay away from the beaches due to the risk of rising sea levels, and to follow the instructions of the services on the ground.

The tremors occurred two weeks after two devastating earthquakes of 7.8 magnitude struck the region with epicenters in Kahramanmaras.
