After the official awards ceremony of the Sarajevo Film Festival, which was held last night in the National Theater, the audience choice awards were also presented. The film “Frog” won the audience choice award for the best feature film, while “Interview with Putin” won the award for the best documentary.

The awards were announced after midnight in the movie theater Meeting Point, after the official Festival awards were announced in the National Theater.

The movie “Frog,” by producer Elmir Jukic, is about Zeko, a veteran and barber with PTSP.

The movie premiered as a part of the Open Air program and it, as well as the presentation thereof, awoke the audience’s emotions. Much of the audience cried and the movie was followed by a several minute-long applause and standing ovation.

The audience choice award for the best documentary went to “Interview with Putin” by Oliver Stone. The four-hour film follows the most intimate interview Putin ever gave to a Western author. This extraordinary documentary offers a deep look into Putin’s personal and professional life, including his childhood in Communism, his rise to power, relations with four American presidents and his surprising views on current U.S.-Russian relations. Oliver Stone, who was a special guest of the Sarajevo Film Festival, was awarded the Honorary Heart of Sarajevo for extraordinary contributions to the film art.

The Young Audience Award went to “Men don’t Cry” by Alen Drljevic, whose world premier was at the International Film Festival Karlovy Vary, where it won the Special Jury’s Award and Europa Cinemas Label. The movie is also the BiH candidate for the American Oscar.

The film is about ten veterans from various sides of the war in BiH, Croatia and Serbia, all of whom were members of the militaries that fought against each other in the 1990s, who are together at a peace workshop organized by an organization in a far-away mountain hotel.
