Ivicom Consulting, the Croatian unit of Austria’s Ivicom, plans to invest 120 million marka ($70.1 million/61.4 million euro) in the construction of a wind farm in Bosnia’s Una-Sana Canton, cantonal prime minister Mustafa Ruznic said.

“This project is the largest investment in the Canton, I am pleased that this government has initiated activities to start its implementation,” Ruznic said in a press release issued by the Una-Sana Canton government on Thursday.

The cantonal government has authorised Ruznic to sign a contract for awarding a concession contract for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of several wind turbines of 5 MW each, to be situated on a plot of land in Bihac municipality.

In 2016, Bosnian media reported Ivicom plans to build a wind park with installed capacity of up to 40 MW in Una-Sana Canton.

The Una-Sana Canton is located in Bosnia’s Muslim-Croat Federation, one of two entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other is the Serb Republic, Renewables Now reports.
