Awards of October Salon- New Success of B&H Artists at the Regional Scene

oktobarski salonB&H artists achieved one more important success at the regional scene, confirming one more the title that they hold, as the best ambassadors of our country. One of the most important events in the region , the 54th October Salon in Belgrade awarded for the first time artists from B&H Lana Čmajčanin and Adela Jušić.

The art works of B&H artists are “166987 uboda” of Lana Čmajčanin and “Ride to Recoil (2013)” of Adela Jušić. The two artists are awarded with the special prize October Salon, dedicated to the achievements in the field of visual arts, established and supported by the Belgrade city.

Lana Čmajčanin stated that “166987 uboda” examines and discusses the position of women in our time and our society, women experiences and position within the context of art, which is a subject of criticism.

Adela Jušić in her art work approached the brutal and deadly violence as a traumatic experience, which should be over and over again processed in the memory of the individual as a collective social process.

The Salon consisted of art works of 40 artists- paintings, sculptures, videos, sound installations, as well as the events that were part of the Salon.
