Azaiza: Bosnian People cannot understand what is happening in Gaza, but they feel it

Ahead of the Al Jazeera Balkans seminar “From the Balkans to Gaza”, brave Palestinian journalist and photographer Motaz Azaiza, who publishes daily from war-torn Gaza, and who recently arrived in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), addressed the public.

“People from BiH do not understand what is happening, but they feel it. People who have gone through similar experiences feel what you are going through. Most of those who understand us are Bosnians. I am trying to express myself, I feel a lot of love, respect, and solidarity, thank you,” said Azaziza.

He stressed that after almost 300 days of war in the Gaza Strip, things are getting worse.

“There are a lot of good people outside Gaza who are doing everything they can. I’m from Gaza, I don’t have many words, what is going on there is against humanity,” Azaiza said.

He pointed out that he is not counting on the United Nations (UN) but on the people.

“If they could have done something, they would have done something already. I am disappointed in them, but not in the people, they are doing their best to help and provide support. The reason that made me evacuate from Gaza is that I am disappointed. There is a force that drives me, I am trying to justify the support I have received from the people of Gaza, to be their voice that will reach everyone in the world,” said Azaiza.

He previously posted on his Instagram a photo from the bridge near the City Hall, where a banner supporting the Palestinians in Gaza was placed. The banner lists all the dates of the massacre of Palestinians over the years.

In the description of one video, he wrote that he noticed the great support of all citizens of Sarajevo for the Palestinians and that it differed from support from anywhere else, Klix.ba writes.
