Azerbaijan is interested in investing in BiH, confirmed the Ministers of Economic Development Šahin Mustafajev in Banja Luka today.
He said that his country has a large, growing economy and investment opportunities, and some have already started in other countries in the region-Serbia, Croatia, Romania, Slovenia, Montenegro, Hungary…
“There is interest in our business circles to invest in BiH, and in the RS”, said Mustafajev.
He added that he is confident it will be followed by concrete agreements on cooperation, because in BiH there are huge opportunities for investment and untapped investment opportunities.
These topics will be discussed today at the business forum in Banja Luka, where more than 20 companies from Azerbaijan and 40 companies from the RS and FBiH will participate.
Addressing those present at the meeting, the RS Prime Minister Aleksandar Džombić spoke of the natural potentials and resources available in the RS, pointing to the first plan in energy.
“The RS is the richest in the entire region, and among the richest in Europe regarding water. This opens up possibilities for us for big and quality investments in the area of the construction of hydropower plants, which we consider a comparative advantage”, said Džombić.
The agricultural sector is a huge potential for the RS, and adds that this BiH entity has very rich wood resources, and the processing of wood assortments ‘’represents a branch of industry of strategic importance’’.
‘’We are a small and open economy and our efforts will continue to be focused on positioning the RS as a platform for regional business that has a favorable tax system. It would be one that is open towards its neighbors, clearly positioned towards the road to the EU and strongly committed to regional and international cooperation’’, he said, among others in his address at the business forum.
