The mayor of Banja Luka, Drasko Stanivukovic, along with several citizens, left black bags labeled as “money” in front of the Palace of the Republika Srpska (RS) during yesterday‘s protest. He stated that people need to see how one man, the President of the RS entity, Milorad Dodik, receives 77 million BAM, while 6 million BAM are taken from Banja Luka.

As Stanivukovic placed the bags in front of the Palace, the gathered crowd shouted, “Give him more money,” “May it be his last,” and “May he need it for medicine.” One protester remarked, “So he has enough to pay for surgeries,” directly referencing Dodik’s health condition.

“All these bags symbolically represent the 77 million taken by one man, while 6 million are taken from Banja Luka,” the mayor stated.

To recall, under the proposed budget for the next year, RSPresident Milorad Dodik is set to receive a budget of 77 million BAM, an increase of 21 million compared to this year.

Srdjan Mazalica, Deputy Head of the SNSD Caucus in the National Assembly of RS (NARS), said that the increased budget for Dodik would primarily be directed toward “building children’s kindergartens.”

“The city of Banja Luka, which has the largest budget in RS, hasn’t built a single kindergarten in the past four years. I think it’s justified for the President of RS to intervene where needed and assist in building these facilities,” Mazalica stated, N1 writes.
