jfThe Balkan Senior Championship was held this Saturday in Herceg Novi, Montenegro. Eight countries performed: Romania, Turkey, Bulgaria, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina. In a very strong competition, the BiH national team won ten medals – three gold, four silver and three bronze medals, stated the Judo Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The most successful BiH representatives Sabina Haračić (category –78 kg), Aleksandra Samardžić (-70kg) and Mitar Mrdić (-81 kg) are now the proud holders of the title of the Balkan champions.

Silver medals were won by Selma Sejdinović (-52 kg), who had to surrender the match due to shoulder injury, Ema Brkanić (-48 kg), a 15-year-old hope of the BiH sport and the biggest surprise of this tournament, and Rijad Dedejić (-90 kg) and Hadis Ramić (-100 kg).

Hana Benca (-78 kg), Anđela Samardžić (-57 kg) and Ana Marija Brkić (-48 kg) won bronze medals.

Coach of the BiH team Prof. Dr. Branislav Crnogorac is satisfied with the performance of his competitors and said that these results are a good announcement of the upcoming performances of the BiH representatives at the European Junior Championship in Malaga, Spain, the Grand Prix Competition in Zagreb, Croatia and the Europe Cup in Belgrade, Serbia.
