“Banja Luka Airport must have three to five lines towards Western Europe in the next two years, with at least two frequencies on a weekly level and with a potential of 90,000 to 100,000 passengers,” as stated after the meeting of Director of Banja Luka Airport Dusko Kovacevic and General Director of the Airport “Nikola Tesla” in Belgrade, Sasa Vlaisavljevic.

Currently, the only flight from Banja Luka Airport is conducted by “Air Serbia”.

Vlaisavljevic promised the support to his colleagues in Banja Luka in order to make some changes and commercialize the Airport Banja Luka.

“We believe that a strong commercialization of Banja Luka Airport must happen this year and in the second half of 2019,” noted Vlaisavljevic.

Director of Banja Luka Airport Dusko Kovacevic also noted that they had to keep air traffic with “Air Serbia”, but they are committed to have more traffic and more passengers.

“We are starting negotiations with all the interested low-cost airlines in order to achieve a certain number of flights in that sphere,” stated Kovacevic, but he could not talk about specific negotiations with individual low-cost companies.

The Belgrade Airport, he added, will offer all possible support to his colleagues in Banja Luka when it comes to training of staff, as well as in other segments.
