Banja Luka Airport welcomed 7,000 new passengers in November, and the main reason for the increase in the number of passengers is the new line of Ryanair Company.

In November, 8,272 passengers passed through the Banja Luka Airport, recording an increase of 729 percent compared to the same period last year.

In the period from January to November 2018, the number of passengers who passed through the airport was 27,915 or 41.5 percent more than in 2017.

Last week, Ryanair announced that it will launch a new line from Berlin in April 2019. In this way, the second largest city in BiH will be connected with another European city.

Banja Luka International Airport, also known as Mahovljani Airport, is an airport located 18 km northeast of the railway station in the city of Banja Luka, the largest city in Republika Srpska, and second largest in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The airport is managed by the government-owned company “Aerodromi Republike Srpske”.

The construction of the Banja Luka International Airport began in 1976. In accordance with the development plans, capacities were built defining Banja Luka as an airport of secondary importance, restricted to domestic air traffic on the territory of Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
