Beautiful Lukomir is The Last “Real” Bosnian Village

LukomirLukomir is the highest and most isolated village in B&H. Lukomir is located on the southern part of Bjelašnica, about 50 km from Sarajevo and about 1.500 meters above the sea level.

Lukomir residents are going to the city for already two years, because, as they say winter here is very severe, and the access to the countryside is very inaccessible.

Lukomir is unique in many ways, primarily by old stone houses, more than 200 years old, which are covered with cherries. This village undoubtedly deserves the epithet that has already received, “the last true Bosnian village“.

The first seasonal settlement built here evolved into today’s village and the most part the people settled here are from the family Čomor and Masleša, which are still the most numerous families in the Upper Lukomir.
