Beautiful Scenery around Travnik City

Travnik

“Nobody in Travnik never even thought that this town was created for ordinary life and everyday events …”

In this way, in the words Bosnian giant Ivo Andric, many people from Travnik will describe their city, hidden under Mount Vlasic.

A city that is famous for its Nobel Prize winner, the city of viziers, cevapi and Travnik cheese, and the wonderful nature and beauty is really worth visiting.

Once you visit this city, you will surely fall in love with it and its spirit that sprung more than six centuries ago. It contains many cultural and historical sights, among which are the most famous Old Town – Kastel, clock tower, mosques and turbets, Catholic and Orthodox churches, Andric’s house and a madrasa.

But among all these sights, each visitor will retain a special memory of the visit to Blue Water – Sumec, Lutvina Kahva or Rudolf’s Tavern, as they call it.

The Blue Water spring, the spring of the the stream Hendek and the Lasva River, for centuries has given a special breath to this part of the city and because of the continuous watercourse, this meadow neighborhood is named Sumece.

As Ivo Andric writes, “here the imperial champions gathered around the Turkish land and discussed the political events in the city”, and without a doubt this was, through history, the favorite destination of all those eager for the breath of nature.

A particularly interesting location on the Blue Water is Lutvina Kahva, which is also popularly called Rudolf’s café, because it was visited in June 1887 by Rudolf Habsurgovac. He simply fell in love with this place, and donated money to restore it, and for a long time, the cups from which he drank coffee were kept in the cafe bar.

It is certain that everyone, if they ever visited Travnik, fell in love with the city’s charms.

Take a walk through elusive nature near the city center.
