BH Beekeepers satisfied with a Record Yields of Honey

Srebrenica beekeepingThe BH beekeepers are happily rubbing their hands. After a catastrophic last year, in which they couldn’t collect enough honey even for their own needs, this year could be a record one when it comes to the yields of honey.

The first significant honey extraction in B&H, acacia, filled the beehives at the most of beekeepers, and also other hone producing plants produced a lot of honey.

Beekeepers who drove their bees to the mountain on the beginning of June, also said that their scale increase for around seven kilograms in just five days, which is very good although the real mountain honey extraction is expected from a half of the month, when the daily yields could go up to three and a half kilograms per hive.

That is the thing with bees, said beekeepers. In one year, you do not get even a jar of honey, but in the next year bees bring honey for two years.

Although the BH honey was evaluated as one of the highest quality in Europe. B&H annually imports 300 tons of honey, out of which the biggest part s of poor or questionable quality.
