The authorities in B&H have still not declared themselves regarding the proposal of the Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic on the introduction of a common day of remembrance of all the victims of the conflict in this region. According to the current attitudes of the polititians, most of the countries in the region will not support the proposal of Vucic.
On the conference on Western Balkans which is to be held on 27th this month in Vienna, the Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic will propose the introduction of a common day of remembrance of all victims of the conflicts on the territory of the former Yugoslavia.
Vucic said that everyone should show the same respect for all the casualties, and know that there were victims on all sides of the conflict.
Such a rhetoric of Aleksandar Vucic comes after a series of political moves that have greatly influenced on the tightening of the relations in the region.
The president of HDZ 1990 and a delegate in the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of B&H Martin Raguz considers that the essence are not the symbolic moves of the Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, but that the essence is the true confrontation with the recent past, as well as with the one that preceded it.
“At this moment, I can personally indicate the latest interpretations of Oluja which was, I remind, a legal and legitimate campaign based on the resolution of the Security Council, besides that there are different interpretations of the causes of war and events in this region, to the events related to the failure of the adoption of the resolution on Srebrenica“, said Raguz.
Raguz said that his attitude is that it is more important to have the strength, courage, political will, dignity and credibility and create a genuine attitude towards the war events in this region, in a way that such events never happen again.
“When it is done by those who represent the people and nations in this region, then we can speak of some symbolic steps. Without that, it is just for daily political use”, said Raguz.
Raguz did not want to speculate on what will be the attitude of the current government in B&H, but he added that, knowing the complexity of political relations in B&H regarding the war, he expects different approaches.
“We know how difficult it is to reach a consensus on important issues. I do not run away from opening the discussion on this topic, but once and for all the line should be drawn regarding the war and its underlying causes and aggressive results. Only then can we build and harmonize the relation towards all victims, which should be a matter of one civilized approach that would eventually have to manifest in this region as well”, concluded Raguz.
