B&H Starts to Apply the European Policy “Health 2020”

zsuzsanna jakobThe two years lasting contract about cooperation between B&H and the Regional office of the WHO for Europe has been signed. – was stated at the Ministry of civil affairs of B&H.

The Minister of civil affairs of B&H Sredoje Nović and the regional director of the WHO for Europe, Zsuzsanna Jakab signed this contract for the period of 2014-2015.

The agreement on cooperation reflects the vision of the Regional office of WHO for Europe – Better Health for Europe and it is based on relevant European strategies and projects.

The activities concerning the priorities mentioned in this agreement will be implemented through applying of the European policy “Health 2020” which should optimize possibilities to promote the health of the population and decrease inequality in this field.

At the 64th session of the Regional Committee of the WHO for Europe in Copenhagen, the delegates nominated Zsuzsanna Jakob to be director of the Regional office of WHO for Europe for five years. When the Executive board of the WHO confirms the candidature of Jakob in January 2015 in Geneva, the new mandate of the regional director will start in February 2015.
