The B&H Council of Ministers, at the proposal of the Ministry of Security, adopted a Strategy for the fight against organized crime in B&H for the period 2014-2016.
The Strategy sets out policies in the area of establishing an effective system of combating organized crime, defined objectives, roles and responsibilities of all actors involved in its implementation and sets the framework for the development of its plans for implementation.
Adoption and implementation of the Strategy in the fight against organized crime is of widest significance for all B&H citizens and is an important step in the process of joining the EU, and a clear indication of the commitment of B&H to contribute to the fullest extent to the global fight against organized crime.
Within two months of the adoption of the Strategy, all security institutions whose representatives participated in the working group will bring their own action plans for participation.
The development of the Strategy was attended by representatives of state ministries of security and justice, B&H Prosecutor’s Office, State Investigation and Protection Agency, border police, Service for Foreigners Affairs, Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies, Intelligence and Security Agency, Indirect Taxation Authority, entity prosecutors’ offices, ministries of internal affairs of the RS and FB&H and the Brčko District Police.
